 Accurate and True are similar, but they are not exactly the same.

1. Accurate = Correct, Precise, Close to Reality

Something is accurate when it matches the facts, measurements, or reality very closely.

Examples:

  • The measurement is accurate. (The measurement is correct.)

  • The weather forecast was accurate. (It predicted the weather correctly.)

  • His drawing is accurate. (It closely matches the real object.)

2. True = Not False, Real, Honest

Something is true when it is a fact or actually happened.

Examples:

  • It is true that the Earth orbits the Sun.

  • What she said was true.

  • The story is based on a true event.
