Purpose

The Site Manager ensures that construction activities are executed efficiently, safely, and according to plan by controlling manpower, materials, equipment, and daily workflow on site.

Daily Site Operation SOP

3.1 Morning (Before work)

  1. Check attendance and assign tasks to foremen/workers.
  2. Review today’s activities with site engineer.
  3. Ensure materials and tools are available.
  4. Conduct toolbox talk (safety + quality).

3.2 During Work

  1. Monitor productivity and workmanship.
  2. Control manpower distribution per activity.
  3. Coordinate equipment usage (crane, mixer, pump, etc.).
  4. Keep site clean and organized.
  5. Immediately report problems to PM/Site Engineer.

3.3 End of Day

  1. Confirm completed work quantities.
  2. Prepare manpower and material needs for tomorrow.
  3. Report issues, delays, and accidents (if any).
  4. Secure site before leaving.

Manpower Management SOP

  • Assign clear roles to foremen and workers.
  • Balance manpower per activity (no crowding, no idle).
  • Control overtime and productivity.
  • Discipline unsafe or unproductive workers.
  • Motivate team with clear targets.
Rule: Right worker, right job, right time.

Material & Logistics SOP

  • Request materials 2–3 days in advance.
  • Check quantity and quality upon delivery.
  • Ensure proper storage (cement, steel, tiles, chemicals).
  • Control waste and misuse of materials.
  • Coordinate unloading and internal transport.

Safety & Housekeeping SOP

  • Ensure PPE usage by all workers.
  • Maintain clean access paths and working areas.
  • Control scaffolding, ladders, and working at height.
  • Stop unsafe work immediately.
  • Report accidents and near-miss incidents.
Safety rule: No safety = no work.

Progress & Reporting SOP

  • Update daily progress with site engineer.
  • Report delays and manpower issues early.
  • Support QS for measurement & IPC.
  • Provide photos and records for progress claims.
