🎥 Resource Graph View in Microsoft Project

Microsoft Project - Lesson 58 - Viewing Resource Graph 🎥

This short video specifically explains:

  • How to open Resource Graph

  • How to switch between resources

  • How Microsoft Project displays resource workload

  • Why the graph may appear empty

  • How to identify overallocated resources (YouTube) 🎥

After Watching, Test This in Your Schedule

Step 1

Go to View → Resource Sheet

Make sure you have resources such as:

  • Mason Team

  • Electrician Team

  • Plumbing Team

Step 2

Go to Gantt Chart

Assign a resource to at least one task:

Task Resource
Brick Wall Mason Team

Step 3

Return to Resource Graph

Press Page Down on your keyboard.

Now you should see bars appearing.

The Resource Graph only displays data when:

  • Resources exist

  • Resources are assigned to tasks

  • A resource is selected in the graph (MPUG)

Additional Video (Resource Management)

Master Resource Management Using Microsoft Project in 20 Minutes! 🎥

This is more advanced and covers:

  • Resource assignment

  • Resource workload

  • Resource conflicts

  • Resource leveling

  • Capacity planning (YouTube) 🎥

Based on your screenshot, I am about 90% sure the issue is that your resources are not assigned to tasks yet, or no resource is currently selected in the Resource Graph. If you send a screenshot of your Resource Sheet and Gantt Chart with Resource Names column, I can pinpoint the exact cause.
