48 Laws of Power × Leader Personality Types
How to communicate so they become your client
Practical playbook for winning leaders as clients using ethical influence: trust + respect + perceived value. You don’t “sell harder” — you speak their language.
Core principle
✅ Match your message to the leader’s personality type.
Power here means: influence without pressure.
Step 1: Identify their leader type in 5–10 minutes
Listen to what they repeat, what makes them impatient, and what they fear losing.
| They focus on… | You’re likely talking to… | What they want most |
|---|---|---|
| Data, logic, risk, process | Thinker / Strategic | Predictability & control |
| Vision, image, excitement, story | Charismatic / Influencer | Status & momentum |
| Speed, results, authority, hierarchy | Dominant / Authority | Respect & execution |
| Relationship, fairness, safety, harmony | Supportive / People-first | Trust & partnership |
Fast diagnostic questions (use 1–2 only)
- Thinker: “What risks do you want to eliminate first?”
- Charismatic: “What should this project represent about you/your brand?”
- Dominant: “If we could finish faster, what result matters most?”
- Supportive: “What would make you feel 100% comfortable working together?”
Step 2: Use the right Laws for each leader type
Choose 3–7 laws that fit their psychology. The best communication feels natural and easy.
How to win them
What they want: logic, clarity, risk control, predictable delivery.
Never do: oversell, talk too much, push fast decision.
Best laws to apply
- Law 3 — Conceal intentions (don’t reveal everything at once)
- Law 31 — Control the options (give 3 options, guide to best)
- Law 33 — Discover the “thumbscrew” (find their real worry)
- Law 5 — Guard reputation (proof, track record)
I prepared 3 options with cost, timeline, and risks. Option B is my recommendation because it reduces risk the most. You choose the option you feel best — I’ll support your decision with clear steps.
How to win them
What they want: vision, excitement, identity, social proof.
Never do: only technical talk, boring presentation, no story.
Best laws to apply
- Law 6 — Court attention (make it memorable)
- Law 27 — Create belief (vision + pathway)
- Law 34 — Act like a king (calm confidence)
- Law 38 — Behave like others (match tone & culture)
This project should represent your standard. My job is to make people feel your brand the moment they see it. Here’s the concept, then the clear plan to deliver it on time.
How to win them
What they want: respect, speed, results, clear hierarchy.
Never do: challenge them publicly, over-explain, sound unsure.
Best laws to apply
- Law 1 — Never outshine the master (let them feel in charge)
- Law 47 — Don’t go past the mark (be direct)
- Law 16 — Use absence to increase respect (don’t look needy)
- Law 19 — Know who you’re dealing with (avoid ego traps)
Based on your direction, this is the fastest execution plan. If you approve today, we can start immediately. I’ll report progress in short updates so you stay in control.

What they want: trust, fairness, safety, long-term partnership.
Never do: pressure, aggressive close, conflict tone.
Best laws to apply
- Law 43 — Work on hearts and minds (care + consistency)
- Law 13 — Appeal to self-interest (protect their needs)
- Law 31 — Control the options (simple choices reduce anxiety)
- Law 19 — Know who you’re dealing with (avoid emotional damage)
My goal is not only to finish the project — it’s to build a partnership you can rely on. We’ll agree on clear steps, clear quality checks, and fair communication so you feel safe at every stage.
Step 3: Universal 4-Step Power Communication Flow
Use this structure in meetings, Telegram messages, proposals, and site updates.
- Mirror their style (Law 38) — match speed, tone, detail level.
- Let them speak first (Law 33) — find the real concern (risk/image/time/trust).
- Frame choices (Law 31) — give 2–3 options, guide to the best.
- Close with calm confidence (Law 34) — one clear next step.
1) I understand your priority is: [risk / image / time / trust]. 2) Here are 2–3 options: - Option A: [benefit + tradeoff] - Option B: [benefit + tradeoff] - Option C: [benefit + tradeoff] 3) My recommendation: Option [X] because [reason]. 4) Next step: If you approve, I will [specific action + date/time].
Step 4: Don’t do this
- Sound desperate (too many messages, too many discounts).
- Talk more than the client (you lose information power).
- Reveal full strategy early (release details step-by-step).
- Use pressure (strong leaders hate being pushed).
- Argue publicly (especially with Dominant leaders).
