Approach to Learn to Speak English

Approach to Learn to Speak English

Speaking is a skill — train it daily with short real-life sentences, repetition, and confidence.

Speak daily (5–10 min) Listen → Copy → Repeat → Speak Fluency first, grammar later ✅ Use construction English
Rule: No speaking = no improvement. Broken English is OK. Speak first, correct later.
🎧
Input
Listen to short English (5–10 sec clips).
🗣️
Output
Repeat + speak every day (even 5 minutes).
🏗️
Real life
Use sentences from your job (site, workers, schedule).
🔁
Repetition
3 useful sentences/day → repeat all day.
1 Speak Every Day (Even 5 Minutes)

Speaking is like driving: you improve only by doing it.

  • Speak small sentences.
  • Don’t wait to be perfect.
  • Consistency beats long study.
Daily mini-sentences:
  • “Today I go to site.”
  • “My worker is late.”
  • “I need to check concrete.”
2 Learn Like a Child (Basic → Repeat → Use)

Children learn by hearing, copying, and using words every day.

Best pattern: Listen → Copy → Repeat → Speak
  • Short is better than long.
  • Repeat the same sentence many times.
3 Use Real-Life Sentences (Construction English)

Don’t learn random vocabulary. Learn what you use on site.

Useful words: concrete, rebar, column, beam, slab, cover, stirrup, schedule, payment, delay, quality
Practice sentences:
  • “The concrete is not strong.”
  • “We need more workers.”
  • “The steel bar is missing.”
4 Shadowing Method (Pronunciation + Fluency)

Shadowing = repeat immediately after a native speaker.

  • Choose a 5–10 second clip.
  • Play → pause → repeat exactly.
  • Repeat 10 times.
Trains: accent, rhythm, speed, confidence
5 Learn 3 Useful Sentences per Day

Not 50 words. Only 3 sentences — but repeat them all day.

Example (Day 1):
  1. “I will check the site today.”
  2. “Please send me the updated drawing.”
  3. “We must finish this work before Friday.”
6 Speak to Yourself (Self-Talk)

Self-talk makes English automatic. Talk while you walk, drive, or work.

Self-talk examples:
  • “Now I am going to the site.”
  • “I will check the rebar.”
  • “This beam is not straight.”
7 Don’t Translate Too Much

If you always translate Khmer → English, you will be slow. Memorize common phrases directly.

Useful phrases:
  • “I’m not sure.”
  • “Let’s do it tomorrow.”
  • “We need to fix this.”
8 Focus on Fluency First, Grammar Later

Mistakes are normal. Fluency comes first. Accuracy comes later.

Rule: Speak first, correct later.
9 Simple Daily Speaking Routine
  • Morning (5 min): say your plan (meeting, site, tasks).
  • During work (5 min): say objects/actions (rebar, pour, check).
  • Night (10 min): tell a story about today + tomorrow.
10 Practice With Roleplay (Fastest Improvement)

Roleplay helps you speak naturally in real situations.

Roleplay ideas:
  • Site Engineer → talking to workers
  • Contractor → talking to client
  • Negotiating VO rate
  • Reporting delay + solution

Daily 30-Min Formula

If you want fast improvement:
  • ✅ Listen 10 min
  • ✅ Repeat 10 min
  • ✅ Speak 10 min
Tip: Do this every day. Even 30 minutes/day is powerful.

Mini Speaking Trainer (Type → Speak)

Write 3 sentences about your day. Then read them out loud 5 times.

Want daily practice with me? We can do short roleplay every day: client meeting, site instruction, delay report, VO negotiation.
